About Mrs. Lisa Earnest
On the American flag, there are 50 stars which represent the states that make up our country. In a similar way, there are many events that collectively make up who I am.
Being born and raised in the Ft. Lauderdale area provided many opportunities but when it was time to select a college, the University of South Carolina was my choice. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree, in the area of Sport Administration, allowed me to follow my dream, at that time, and I worked for the New York Mets, Florida Marlins and Atlanta Braves baseball organizations. Eventually, I had another passion and through Florida Atlantic University, I received my teaching certification. At that time, I began teaching 5th grade and enjoyed doing so for 6 years in Florida. Being one to embrace change, I decided to move to Illinois and continue my teaching career. A perfect fit was made when I began teaching in District 41. My first 9 years in the district were spent teaching 5th grade, at Ben Franklin. During those years, I also earned another degree with my Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from Concordia University. Then, needing a change again, I moved to Hadley. I am currently enjoying my 5th year teaching 7th grade social studies here at Hadley.
Personally, sharing my life with my husband Mike, our delightful daughter Daphne who was born in 2013, and our rescue dog Jagger, who is part Pomeranian and part Dachshund , in St. Charles, is truly one filled of bliss. I hope to share this happiness with your children on a daily basis.
